Fragmentation is the universal human condition.
We are internally split. Our mind, heart, and will are competing and in conflict, rather than unified and in harmony. Many different parts of us dwell within the vast spaces of our soul. Some we present to the world, the “safe” ones; others we admit only to ourselves. Still others are lost to the shadows. Our singular name refers not to a “one” but to a universe—we truly do contain multitudes.
What would a return to wholeness be like? The Enneagram provides a map of the inner cosmos, one we can use to call upon our disowned selves and reclaim them. Can we open and embrace the totality of ourselves, rather than identify as only one part? The soul’s longing is fulfilled not by something outside, but by bringing our spiritual nature fully into our humanity. This is the heart of our inner work. Heaven – love and connection – descends on earth, as we root our life in wholeness, as we welcome all of ourselves home.
